[It's late in the afternoon and there was nothing out of the ordinary happening today in the plaza, except for a sudden burst of water from the fountain. Today, the fountain decided to spit a man out of it. He was certainly not there a moment ago. Roku wasn't sure how or when he found himself underwater, but he knew he couldn't breathe if he continued to stay under. He gripped edge of the fountain, coughing and gasping for air as he pulled himself out and plops himself down against the fountain wall.]
Ugh...water's trying to kill me before I even get a teacher. [His back ached terribly against the cold stone so he leaned forward a little as he tried to get his bearings. He turns his head to look towards the fountain. How did even get into a fountain!? ...Oddly, it felt kind of familiar. Actually, where the heck was he? This plaza was definitely not air temple architect. Still, there was something familiar about this place. The memory was fuzzy, but somewhere in the back of his mind was telling him he's been here before. But...he's pretty sure he stayed in the Air Temple for the last several years, and he never left the Fire Nation before that. This wasn't Fire nation, he's sure of it, or at least his head was telling him it's not.]
Where...? [...He's just going to sit there, soaked and dumbstruck for awhile as people pass him. Has he moved every so slightly from discomfort, his right hand will stumble onto the journal, just sitting there beside him. He stared at it, before he picks it up. Almost instinctively he opens it and...well say something, but...a part of his head was telling him "what are you even thinking? This is stupid". It's this part that people will hear in the journal.]
[Voice]
Hello...? Is...um-- oh, what am I even doing? Can anyone hear me through this? [So he doesn't think he's going crazy]

Hello...? Is...um-- oh, what am I even doing? Can anyone hear me through this? [So he doesn't think he's going crazy]
[Action]
Uh, Who's he exactly?
[Action]
Thank you, Katara. It's more than I hoped for. [Pause] Have you tried using it yet?
[Then Roku opens his own Avatar mouth and reminds them of his existence. Aang feels a bit guilty, thinking he might have handed him the egg too carelessly.]
It's the whistle for my bison, Appa! He's like... [your dragon, who is still in his egg.] ...a really cool companion!
[Action]
And Katara shook her head, her smile dimming.]
I haven't tried it yet - I thought you should. But... I wouldn't get my hopes up too high.
[Just because the whistle's here doesn't mean Appa will follow. It might, but she can't stand to see Aang crushed.]
I'm sure you saw sky bison during your airbending training, right Roku?
[Action]
Oh! Yes I have! I thought that whistle look kinda familiar. Me and Gyatso would go around on his bison all the time. [And go where they weren't suppose to.]
If you just found the whistle now, maybe they did bring Appa. [Staying optimistic here.]
[Action]
He grins fondly once Gyatso's name is mentioned, and his spirits remain high despite Katara's warning. He takes the whistle in his hand and looks at it. Exactly the same as back home. And Roku made a good point... he had been so anxious to find the whistle in hopes that it would meant they brought him Appa.]
There's only one way to find out.
[He puts the whistle into his mouth and blows.]

[Action]
Give it some time, Aang. He might not be here yet. But even if he's not, it's nice to have the reminder, isn't it?
[Action]
Yea. We got some time to make sure we have room for him too, whenever he decides to show up. [If he got Fang, then he still believes Aang will get his Appa.]
[Action]
You're right. I was letting myself have too much hope. This... this is good enough for now. [He hoped he wouldn't have to settle for less than all of his favorite things from back home.] I know Appa will find his way here. And... we'll find room for him, and you too Roku.
[Action]
You don't need to worry about room, if you want to stay with us. We can always build a bunk bed in Aang or Zuko's room - or maybe build an extension for Toph. With three earthbenders, it won't take any time at all, and she might like that even better than just having a stone floor.
[It's not like they'll need to worry about electric lighting, although she bets Sokka could wire some for them there.]
[Action]
The bunk bed idea sounds good! But I'll...do whatever everyone else is comfortable with. [...] I thought Toph was the only earthbender here. There are others?
[Action]
A bunk bed sounds really cool! I'd like to try that. And of course, Roku - there's me!
[Action]
[Action]
How many elements do you already know Aang?
[Action]
Oh. Um, four.
[Action]
We were kind of on a tight schedule. Aang worked very hard. We trained every day.
[Action]
...Course, Katara's comment put everything together for him. The war. What Sozin did hasn't even happen to him yet, but it's picking at his conscious]
Oh, right. Times are different then. That must have been one a crazy learning experience. [He's avoiding the topic by keeping it to Aang's training and stuff] Well I guess that means I can learn waterbending from two people.
[Action]
Yeah, it was really difficult, and I still have to practice a lot here. I'm used to being the pupil instead of the sifu, but I'd be honored to help you with any of the elements.
[He smiles at the idea of teaching with Katara.] You're in good hands with Waterbending, with Sifu Katara here. And like I said, I'll help however I can, and you'll be catching up to me eventually.
[Action] 1/2
This is going to explode in our faces one day, isn't it.]
[Action]
So, Roku, does this mean you're a master airbender now?
[Action]
[And then he smirks a little at Katara's question.] And yes I am. I'd demonstrate, but I rather not drop this egg. And we were talking about the rooming situation right?
[Crisis has been averted, for now]
[Action]
I do want to see later. And I know there's at least one really awesome move you don't know yet. [Pause.] But yeah, that rooming situation. I still like the bunk bed idea, if neither of us will let the other take the sofa.
[Action]
[...]
Why are you carrying an egg?
