[Since today happens to be a pleasant, breezy day, Roku has gone out to take advantage of this and practice some airbending. He's hanging out at the barracks, AWAY from the house so he doesn't end up doing something to the house like last time. He's been going through all the motions and actually making some progress, able to make more powerful gust with more control. Though, maybe the wind might be helping him along but it's not a bad thing. It's like an invisible teacher.]

If only I had my glider...

Yea...you want try it up against a firebender?

I don't think I can out-fire you. I want to see if I can use Eferin to keep myself from getting hit. If I get into fight with a firebender, I want to be able to fight and not just run from the attacks.

I'll start with small bursts all right?

[Sokka nods and pulls out his sword again. It's not worth doing unless he has a weapon in hand so he can fight at the same time. He slides into a defensive posture.]

Alright, do it.

[Although he tries not to, Sokka instinctively dodges it. However at the same time, he strike at the flame with his blade. It seems to have the intended effect of dispersing the flames completely. Okay, this seems promising so far. He'll hold his ground next time.]

{This time he keeps his blade position in front of him, slicing through the fireball itself. With Eferin's aid, he's able to diver the fire to go on either side of him.]

[Okay, a little trickier. Sokka swipes at one with the same effect. There isn't time to swipe at the other though, so he relies on a burst of wind to send the second fireball off in another direction. That wasn't as good as he had hoped.]

[Okay, this is a little different. But he can handle it. He tries something a little new and at the same time as he brings his sword over his head and downward, he uses Eferin to guide the flames around him and then Kipinn to blast his way through the rest. He gets away without being singed.]

Not bad. Although, I should tell you that if this was a real fight, I'd be sending more at you then just one at a time.

Well yeah, I know that. It's not the first time I've been attacked by a firebender. [He's lost count.] I just need to practice, that's all. Eferin is usually used to create fire. It's harder to control it.

Eh, we can take a break for now and pick up again later. [Sokka puts his sword away and rotates his sword arm.] Yeah. Couple of more sessions like that and I'll be able to handle any fire thrown at me.

Yeah. She shows up all the time, now. She even drops by the smithy sometimes, now.

Well, maybe I can talk to her to not firebend at any of you. Being her great grandfather must amount to something.

Well, she hasn't done it yet. I just want to be ready, just in case. Besides, some other firebender not related to you could show up instead.
