[It's nighttime in Luceti and Roku's sitting atop the roof of House 56. Why was he up there? Probably bored and was watching the stars or maybe just checking the damage done by Zuko's attempt to firebend. Possibility of leaks are not fun...and no, he's not holding off on that talk he was suppose to have with Zuko, not at all.

It's more like...where do you even start? A war, Azula, grandchildren...his grandson being labeled a traitor. He sighs and flops on his back.]

A lot sure can happen in more then a hundred years.

You're telling me my best friend started....everything!? The spark that led to this....war that's happening in your time? Of course I can't just imagine my friend in that light!

Your best friend that killed you? Of course he wouldn't do anything bad ever. You defended that friendship to the end, even as you stood there dieing.

And fine. Don't believe me. Ask anyone, anyone at all from our world. They will tell you. Azula will do it so proudly too. But I doubt any of the others will be proud about it. [And Zuko is going to turn his back to you Roku and start to walk away. It might be your best friend, but it was his great grandfather. Back home he is trying to repair the honour of the Fire Nation from these very actions.]

Enough! Sozin is a lot of things! But he would never tarnish our friendship!

[Well Zuko has his back to you Roku, but that sound of air and fire is a familiar one. Zuko will turn around and start as the house starts to burn. His instinct is to try and bend that fire, but just looking at it he can tell it is too strong, even if he wasn't warn out from that fight with Katara. Thankfully everyone was out tonight so he could just let the house burn. He instead turns to Roku and starts yelling at him.]

And how do you think going all avatar state HERE is going to change things?

[It's the smell that starts her running first - the smell of smoke and ashes. By the time she gets back to her house, she sees fire everywhere -- and Roku, Roku in the middle of it, burning himself, burning their house-- and he isn't Aang, she doesn't know him like that, she doesn't really know him at all and he's burning]

Roku! Stop that! You need to calm down. You're burning down my house!

[And she shoots off the water in her waterskin at the flames.]

You need to stop! Everything will be okay. In the end, it all gets made right!

[She has no idea what was said -- but she can guess.]

[OK, lessening is good. And those flames are still there - and her house is still burning. So Katara has no choice but to bend the water from the surround grass and send it at the flames.] Listen to me. You marry Ta Min. You have a long and happy life together. And one of the last things you do in this world is save her life.

Would you want her to see you like this? Out of control and destroying things? You need to calm down.

What...?

[Well, Sokka is on his way back from his delightful talk with Azula. Only to find his house on fire. Again.]

What is it with you firebenders!? [And while he may not know any water magic, he does know Kipinn. So he tries something a little new and rather than gusts of air, he just uses it to suffocate the fire until its gone.]

[With the arrival of Katara trying to calm down Roku, Zuko lets her do the talking and has tried to do something about controlling the flaming house. Sokkas efforts do much more to stop the fire though, so he turns back to watch the discussion between Katara and Roku. For now he's not adding to the discussion.]

[And so, Katara, who is slightly shakey and a bit more emotional than she should be - her home, destroyed by firebenders again - walks up and takes Roku by the shoulders. She is concerned and angry.]

Are you all right?

I...I think so. What just happened-...

[Oh, Sokka is no dummy and he has a good guess what happened. So he hobbles over to Zuko and grabs his sleeve to turn him around.]

What did you do!?

Answered his questions. [Zuko is still annoyed about Roku's deniyal of everything, so your getting yelled at Sokka.]

And caused him to blow up the house! [Is Sokka yelling? Oh yes. This is the second time a firebender has tried to burn his house down. This one more than last.] What did you tell him.

That I left the Fire Nation to teach Aang firebending. That Sozin started the war by wiping out the Air Nomads. That he can check with anyone here about whether Sozin did that. And all he can say is Sozin would never do that. This is why he died, because he couldn't cope with Sozin being ruthless. [Ah, a yelling match between Sokka and Zuko. It's about time he had one with Sokka, normally they seem reserved for Katara.]

And let me guess. You told him about the bit where Sozin killed him, right? You idiot!

Well what was I meant to say? He was refusing to listen when I told him Sozin started the war.

[Katara drops her hands.] You went into the Avatar state. [You burned our house!]

I guess you haven't learned to control it yet. [She's not going to blame him. Much as she wants to.]

...Uh, sorry. I don't know what came over me...

...with Aang, it happened whenever he got really upset. [Her gaze flickers to their smoldering house.] But... he never did anything like this. Although I guess he came close a couple of times.

[Her gaze returns to him.] Do you know what the Avatar state is for? It usually comes to protect the Avatar if they feel like they're in a lot of danger.

...I guess, hearing what my best friend did became too much. I almost wish I didn't know.

Yea, I know how it's triggered...I guess my beliefs were in danger so it just came out.

[There's a long pause.] ...I'm sorry that you had to hear it like that. It's not fair to you.

[She hears Sokka yelling at Zuko in the background and can't help but glance at their house again -- she can see a bit of her room there, through the lovely smoldering hole in the wall and she just... sighs a little.] Listen - it didn't happen yet. Not for you. So we'll give you what time you need to adjust to it, but... it's hard for all of us. We've been dealing with what happened... our whole lives.

[A quick, tentative smile.] But it did work out. And it's going to work out. So you can hold on to that, if you can.

If you say so.

Ah...is there anything I can do to help here?
