[It's nighttime in Luceti and Roku's sitting atop the roof of House 56. Why was he up there? Probably bored and was watching the stars or maybe just checking the damage done by Zuko's attempt to firebend. Possibility of leaks are not fun...and no, he's not holding off on that talk he was suppose to have with Zuko, not at all.

It's more like...where do you even start? A war, Azula, grandchildren...his grandson being labeled a traitor. He sighs and flops on his back.

A lot sure can happen in more then a hundred years.

[a low chuckle] Apologies. My name is Ginko, I'm an acquaintance of Sokka and Katara's.

You're Roku-- the Avatar before Aang, huh?

[He leans on one hand over the journal. Mildly] How're you settling in?

The best I can. Our times are so far apart it doesn't effect me so much but...well, my grandkids are apparently here too. That's just too strange.

[that situation sounds...oddly familiar. He raises an eyebrow in interest]

Your own grandkids, huh?-- which ones are they? [he knows; but he's curious to hear it from you]

Well, that's what I was told. I don't know if you met them, but there's Zuko...and then there's Azula who just came.

I've spoken with Zuko once. [a pause] And I've heard about Azula.

[then he smiles] You know, I knew a woman once-- who raised a child as her daughter, who was physically identical to her mother. It was a strange thing for her to deal with.

Really? Exactly identical?

That's right.

Their island was a place where loved ones could be reborn after death. [ well, not exactly. ] In a fashion.

For her, it was as if she was raising both a daughter-- and her own lost mother. [ he smiles ] It's a strange thing, when your past and future cross paths.
